Job Description

As an immensely successful welsh based organisation with over 20 years experience in delivering specialist mental health services, MHC are now opening a new leading edge low secure service in summer 2010. The service will deliver intensive care and treatment for 12 male patients, aged 18- 65, who suffer from mental health problems.

Our philosophy of care is based upon the principles of rehabilitation, recovery and social inclusion, and focuses on enhancing the strengths and resilience of individuals and their families. This service will be a ground-breaking flagship service for us – it’s also the first independent sector unit of its kind in North Wales and will enhance New Hall Independent Hospitals current care pathway.

The low secure service aims to provide patients with a safe, person-centred, secure environment where individuals can receive the appropriate care and treatment required to manage their complex and long-term needs closer to home. All patients will receive therapeutic interventions, appropriate to their needs, including problem solving, enhanced thinking skills and anger management input, alongside other one-to-one support from Clinical Psychologists Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.

As an active member of our Senior Management Team, you’ll help to keep us running smoothly – overseeing our clinical practices, and making sure that the necessary procedures and protocols are followed.

Responsible for all staff supervision in the establishment, you’ll personally manage the care team, with a particular focus on registered nurses. You’ll see to it that we’re making the best possible use of our resources and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

In this way, you’ll enable us to provide first-rate nursing to our patients - ensuring that each one has an individually-tailored, regularly updated care plan to meet their assessed needs.

Acting as a professional role model to other staff, you’ll participate in teaching programmes and assist with the induction of new staff. You’ll manage our keyworker system, as well as being a keyworker yourself, and will work closely with other managers to allocate staffing levels.
