Job Description
About MHC (Mental Health Care)
MHC is a leading specialist independent sector provider of mental health, forensic mental health and learning disability services within Independent Hospitals and Care Homes.
Focussed on rehabilitation and support, our aim is to deliver quality services which meet the needs of patients, clients and purchasers. We achieve this by placing emphasis on fundamental human needs such as interpersonal relationships, integrity and dignity.
We continue to invest in the development of new services in response to service users' needs and the demands of the care industry. We remain forward-thinking in our approach to how we can deliver specialist services in new and innovative ways, and we specialise in helping people to adapt and manage their own complex needs and behaviours.
Our vision is to consistently improve the quality, range and resource effectiveness of our services through an investment in people, a commitment to training and the development of new facilities.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to take a key clinical and operational management role in re-shaping and developing services within what will shortly be the largest hospital within the Castlebeck Group of companies.
Following recent expansion of the multi-disciplinary and management team, New Hall Independent Hospital is looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated senior nurse to provide leadership and direction to the nursing team. This appointment coincides with the completion of a service review project and the introduction of a 5 year plan which includes significant capital investment in expanding and developing services as well as a 3 year plan to refurbish the main hospital to a high standard.
The first phase of the capital investment was commenced last year and will lead up to the opening of a new 12-bed service in a dedicated unit within the hospital grounds in mid summer 2010.
As Clinical Nurse Manager, you will provide strong and focussed clinical leadership and a highly visible “hands on” presence within the hospital. You will be dedicated to forward planning whilst retaining the ability to deal with day to day issues and respond to urgent priorities.
Your primary role will be to lead, organise and monitor the Nursing and Support team, ensuring that resources are managed and deployed in an effective manner enabling staff to provide a supportive and therapeutic environment for people with Mental Health needs.
About you
The successful applicant should be an experienced RNMH who possesses a sound understanding of current mental health issues, experience in leading nursing teams and a sound educational background. Applicants must possess updated knowledge in clinical practices and rehabilitation pathways.
About New Hall
New Hall Independent Hospital is a 25 bed all male service, which consists of four wards including a 2 bed bungalow designed for more independent living. New Hall is situated in the village of Ruabon, near Wrexham.
We are now opening a new leading edge low secure service in summer 2010, situated in the grounds of New Hall. The service will deliver intensive care and treatment for 12 male patients, aged 18- 65, who suffer from mental health problems.
The low secure service aims to provide patients with a safe, person-centred, secure environment where individuals can receive the appropriate care and treatment required to manage their complex and long-term needs closer to home. All patients will receive therapeutic interventions, appropriate to their needs, including problem solving, enhanced thinking skills and anger management input, alongside other one-to-one support from Clinical Psychologists Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.
