Job Description
Castlebeck needs good people, with or without experience, to join our teams of professionals, making a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
In the role of support worker you will encourage and assist the service users in the development of new skills. This may include devising and implementing programmes to encourage more self help or help them develop new ways of coping with life events. These may include general and social skills, accessing community leisure and educational facilities, and support to obtain employment.
Previous experience is not a requirement as training to NVQ Level III will be given. For those who wish to progress further there is every opportunity to do so.
However, if you are someone with experience / relevant qualifications, the remuneration package will reflect this.
Hollyhurst
Allowing people to live their own life to their optimum potential is the aim of Hollyhurst in Darlington where 28 patients are supported by a team of specialist nurses and support workers.
Registered for people over the age of 18, including those detained under the Mental Health Act, Hollyhurst, an independent hospital specialising in support for people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour, is in the centre of a vibrant community.
Patients are encouraged to take part in many activities using the ‘24.7’ system. The ‘24.7’ system enables people to structure their time; build relationships and establish a balance between work, self care and leisure. Individual plans are developed with each patient and includes structured evening and weekend activity as well as less structured time. Read more here ->
