Job Description
Glyn Rhosyn Residential Care Home with Nursing will support 10 men, living in their community, as they move along their own individual care pathways towards more independent living. As well as eight en-suite bedrooms, there will be a two-bedroom self-contained flat where there will be an even greater emphasis on learning independent living skills in preparation for a move into a residential or community service.
Glyn Rhosyn’s philosophy of care is based upon the principles of care treatment and rehabilitation and social inclusion, and is underpinned by The Welsh Mental Handicap Strategy (1983) which sought to enable people with a learning disability to enjoy the full range of life opportunities and
choices, have positive identities and roles in their families and communities, exercise choice and develop independence, self respect and self fulfilment. It articulated 3 principles to guide the way people with a learning disability are supported.
People with a learning disability should have:
i. The right to an ordinary pattern of life within the community.
ii. The right to be treated as an individual; and
iii. The right to additional support and help in developing their maximum potential.
MHC needs good people, with or without experience, to join our team of professionals, making a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The care and support provided to each resident is based upon individual needs, and is aimed at assisting each individual to achieve their full potential. In order to achieve this, Glyn Rhosyn is committed to providing dedicated and well-trained staff in a high quality environment conducive to a friendly and homely lifestyle. Team work and good communication skills are a key part of how we succeed.
Previous experience is not a requirement as training to NVQ Level 2 & 3 will be given. For those who wish to progress further there is every opportunity to do so.
However, if you are someone with experience / relevant qualifications, the remuneration package will reflect this.
As an immensely successful welsh based organisation with over 20 years experience in delivering specialist mental health and learning disabilities services, MHC are opening a new leading edge Residential Care Home with nursing support in November 2010.
This vacancy has now expired, and is not accepting any new applications.
